Skateboarding Legend Stevie Williams Builds A Cannabis Empire

by | Cannabis Times

Stevie Williams, also known as “Little Stevie,” burst onto the skateboarding scene over 30 years ago. At just 12 years old, he wowed crowds at Philadelphia’s iconic LOVE Park and caught the attention of skate brand Element. He was featured in their Fine Artists Vol 1 Collection in 1994, showcasing his incredible skills at such a young age. Williams quickly became synonymous with the city, developing a raw street style that resonated with the entire East Coast skating community.

By the time he was 18, Williams had not only made a name for himself on the board, but also in the business world. He landed sponsorship deals with global brands like G-Shock, Reebok, and Playboy, collaborating on exclusive collections and signature products. But Williams’ entrepreneurial spirit was still burning bright. Along with his friend and collaborator Eli Soto, he launched his own skate brand, DGK (Dirty Ghetto Kids). The name was a nod to the stereotype Williams faced growing up as a Black kid in the inner city, and it solidified his legacy both on and off the board.

As his interest in fashion grew, Williams found inspiration in cannabis culture. Today, he is just as well-known for his streetwear as he is for his skating. DGK offers a range of products that pay homage to the plant, from a line of basketball wear called Team Indica to rolling trays adorned with artistic designs. “DGK represents urban culture, so we support the cannabis space and the movement by representing that culture correctly,” Williams explains.

His latest venture, Lord Williams Farms, takes inspiration from the energy of downtown Los Angeles. Using NFC chip technology, which is popular in the city’s legal weed industry, Williams has created a “journey brand” in the cannabis lifestyle space. “Lord Williams is a blend of technology, lifestyle, cannabis, and psychedelics,” he says. While this technology is typically used for product verification, digital collectibles, and cryptocurrency transactions, Williams is using it to engage his consumers and create a dynamic product experience that goes beyond a simple graphic.

Through his various ventures, from skate gear to streetwear, Williams continues to solidify his legacy as a multifaceted pioneer in skateboarding, cannabis, and fashion. He has built an empire that spans industries and pushes boundaries, all while staying true to his roots and representing urban culture in a positive light.
